3D Modeling of Heat Transfer in Combustion Chambers of Boilers TPP Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Course Overview

Aim of course: the study of the principles of construction of difference schemes, the specific features of the numerical solution of problems of continuum mechanics.

Learning Achievement

The student will be able to demonstrate knowledge of such hydrodynamic concepts as the generation and transfer of vortices, convective and diffusion processes, dissipation, control volumes, sufficiency of boundary conditions

Course schedule

Week1: Introduction. The historical review of progress of numerical methods. Classification of differential equations. Week2: The basic concepts and designations of the theory of difference schemes. Methods for the representation of differential equations in finite differences: Taylor expansion. Week3: Methods for the representation of differential equations in finite differences: polynomial approximation method.
