Actual ecological aspects of petrochemical manufactures Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Course Overview

The aim of the discipline is to form an integral systematic understanding of the issues, approaches and the latest trends of the ecological aspects for the most important petrochemical processes; understanding the importance of the correct choice of means and technologies for decision ecological issues of different petrochemical manufactures.

Students should be competent in: to analyze and correctly choose desired methods and tools for describing and decision of the ecological issues of the most important petrochemical processes

organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, chemical technology, physical chemistry, processes and apparatuses of chemical technology

Grading Philosophy

Exams (25%), Activity in classromm (75%)

Course schedule

Week1: Introduction. Basic concepts and definitions. Global ecology. Industrial production and environment. Week2: Physico-chemical properties of oil and gas. Week3: Influence of emissions of oil and gas on a condition of the atmosphere, soil and water resources.
