Course Overview

Photo physical chemistry of photofunctional molecules, colloids, interfaces and other recent topics for photofunctional materials will be explained. Contents: Electromagnetic waves related to chemistry, Analytical method for photofunctional materials, Fluorescence intensity by pulsed excitation or steady state light excitation, Ultrafast spectroscopy, Visible light absorption by dye molecules, Light absorption by molecules and its selection rules, Excited energy transfer and photoinduced electron transfer, Photo physical chemistry of molecules related to photosynthesis, Observation methods for colloids and interfaces, Photo physical chemistry related to metal, semiconductor, colloids, and interfaces.
