Course Overview

Introduction to the main methods of spectroscopy:

- Atomic emission and absorption spectrometries,

- Molecular absorption  spectroscopy in the UV-visible and infrared ranges,

- Fluorescence,

- Raman and Rayleigh scattering.

Learning Achievement

- Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy.
- Ultraviolet and Visible Molecular Spectroscopy.
- Fluorometry.

Course prerequisites

High-school diploma.

Grading Philosophy

Written exams at the end of the course.

Course schedule

3 weeks;
- Lab time: 3 sessions of 4 hours each (12 hours).
- Estimated self-study time: 10 hours.
