Basic Analysis of Environmental Dynamics University of Tsukuba
Course Overview
This lecture provides basic knowledge for analyzing environmental dynamics. In addition, the present state of environmental problems and its analysis methods are discussed.
Learning Achievement
The objectives of this course are to understand dynamics and changes in global and regional natural environment through analysis of water, soil and material cycles on the Earth’s surface using environmental isotope or remote sensing and GIS techniques.
Competence
Related to "Professional knowledges in geosciences"
Course prerequisites
None
Grading Philosophy
Based on the activeness for class (20%), reports (20%) and final exam (60%).
Course schedule
Offered in even number years. In FY2022, we plan to conduct face-to-face class, BUT it may be changed to online class (MS-Teams) depending on the COVID-19 status.Introduction / What is soil? The soil in relation to human lifeBasic environmental radioecologyMigration and dynamics of radiocesium in soilsSoil erosion and water runoff 1Soil erosion and water runoff 2Radioisotopes as environmental tracerDynamics of radiocesium in forest environmentMapping and monitoring after Fukushima accidentRadiocesium transfer in the terrestrial environmentEffect of forest on water and sediment yieldAnalysis of environmental dynamics using remote sensing and GIS techniques (1)Analysis of environmental dynamics using remote sensing and GIS techniques (2)Analysis of environmental dynamics using remote sensing and GIS techniques (3)Analysis of environmental dynamics using remote sensing and GIS techniques (4)
