Course Overview
> The aim of this course is: - To understand the basic concepts and principles in epidemiology. - To become familiar with the epidemiological tools that could beused in pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology. - To understand the specificity of epidemiological tools applied topharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology.

Course prerequisites
- Bachelor degree in Health or Life Sciences. - Language prerequisites: Non-native English speakers must provide acertificate proving a minimum of English B2 level (cf. Europass[http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/]). - Computer and internet requirement.
Grading Philosophy
- Assessment is usually a mix of continuous and final assessment. - Final assessment takes place by video conference.
Course schedule
> This course consists of the following parts: - Descriptive epidemiology (person, place and time). - Observational studies in pharmacoepidemiology. - Biases in pharmacoepidemiology studies. - Causality criteria, evidence level and critical reading.
