> The aim of the course is: - To analyse and discuss notable examples with special attention tothe risk communication aspects. - To analyse the role of media, internet, scientific journals,independent bulletin of information. - To measure the effectiveness of riskcommunication as a minimisationstrategy and consider ways of improving itseffectiveness.

- Post-graduated leve in Health or Life Sciences. - Language prerequisites: Non-native English speakers must provide acertificate proving a minimum of English B2 level (cf. Europass[http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/]). - Computer and internet requirement.
Grading Philosophy
- Assessment is a mix of continuous assessment. - Final assessment takes place by videoconference.
Course schedule
> This course consists of the following parts: - Hepatitis B vaccine in France, pandemic influenza vaccines, HRT andcancer. What can we learn? What could have been done? - Communication aspects based on drug withdrawals: e.g. rofecoxib,rosiglitazone, benfluorex. What can we learn? What could have beendone? - How to measure the effectiveness of risk communication.
