Course Overview

> Students will learn to:

- Understand molecular mechanisms of neurotransmission and
gliotransmission.
- Have an overview on intracellular signalling.
- Understand molecular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity.
- Develop a critical analysis of complex data sets on
neurotransmission.
- Propose experimental strategy to tackle questions related to
neurotransmission.

Applicants should have basic knowledges on "Cellular Neurobiology" (
Master 1).

- Introduction to Neuronal plasticity.
- G-protein coupled receptors.
- Growth factors and tyrosine kinase receptors.
- Ionotropic receptors and their trafficking
- Purinergic signalling.
- Cytoskeleton-associated signalling.
- Glial cells and repertoire of gliotransmitters.
- Astrocyte activation.
- Astrocyte and synaptic transmission.
- Astrocytes and synaptic memory.
- Molecular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, long-term potentiation
and long-term depression.

> 226 hours: - 40 hours of lectures. - 6 hours of seminars. - 180 self-study hours. * Interactive activities on the Moodle platform  includes: quiz, wiki, chat, forum.
