Civil Society and Politics for Global Harmony 4A University of Tsukuba

Course Overview

Following "Japan's Politics and Civil Society 3", we aim to improve the participants' researches through examination of English literatures other than those of "Japan's Politics and Civil Society 3" concerning Japanese politics and civil society. We examine literatures ciritically in terms of research questions, methodology, implications, and so on.

Learning Achievement

(1)Students can examine the features of Japanese politics and civil society from comparative perspectives (Capacity for Creative Scientific Research, Global Awareness, and Research Ability).
(2)Students can accurately understand previous research and envision new research based on it (Research Ability).

Course schedule

In this class, we will read a series of articles that examine the relationship between socioeconomic inequality and politics in Japan.
While examining the excellent papers, we will consider how to achieve peer review acceptance in academic journals.
