Course Overview
> The aim of this course is: - To analyse and discuss the role and the impact of medicines intherapeutics, health services and society. - To understand the pharmacological and clinical essential principlesof prescribing. - To understand the pharmacological, clinical and epidemiologicalprinciples underlying the effects (both beneficial and unwanted) ofmedicines in various populations. - To analyse and discuss the relevance of unbiased, updatedinformation for prescribing. - To discuss and practice the selection of medicines for patientswith specific disease. - To discuss and analyse the need to keep studying the effects ofmedicines in populations in general medical practice.

Course prerequisites
- Post-graduated leve in Health or Life Sciences. - Language prerequisites: Non-native English speakers must provide acertificate proving a minimum of English B2 level (cf. Europass[http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/]). - Computer and internet requirement.
Grading Philosophy
Assessment is a mix of continuous assessment.

> This course consists of the following parts: - Patients therapeutic needs, medicines and society. - Patients, physicians, information and prescribing. - Clinical and pharmacological basis of therapeutics. - Variability in medicines response. - Therapeutics and medicines prescribing of medicines for selectedhealth problems.
