Course Overview
This course provides a historical overview on the management style and labor relations from comparisons of social institutions and corporate practices. By taking examples from Japan, Europe and other countries, we would examine how people work and discuss their merits and demerits, their possibilities and challenges.

By reading the textbooks and by reseaching case study in groups, students could develop the recognition of both economic history and the new civil society movements.1. Final report: 60%, Class participation: 30%, Presentation:10%

Week 1. Orientation, decision of the presenters and research groupsWeek 2-7. Reading textbooks and learning the basic facts of the world commoditiesWeek 8-10. Presentation of the research groups about particular theme of the world commodities
