Course Overview

比較教育学の理論を、その歴史的発展過程をたどりながら学ぶ。比較教育学の発展は、ヨーロッパにおける近代国民国家の形成という時代を背景に発展したことを理解するとともに、その後の学問的潮流の変遷、例えば近代化理論・実証主義・ポスト植民地主義・ポストモダン理論などとともに変化・発展してきた過程を理解する。そのことを踏まえ、21世紀のグローバル社会における共生ということをテーマとした歴史教育のあり方について、日本と諸外国の事例(Comparative History Education 1ではとりあげないもの)について比較検討する。比較歴史教育1では、特に戦争など国際紛争と教育という観点から歴史教育の在り方について考察する。

Learning Achievement

比較教育学研究における全般的な専門知識について学習する。グローバルな共生社会における歴史教育のあり方について検討・議論することを通じ、知の活用力、コミュニケーション能力、国際性の要請に不可欠な思考力を習得する。比較教育学研究において、論文執筆が可能な専門知識と研究力を身につける。
Students study overall expertise in comparative education. Through investigation and discussion on history education in our global society, students attain the use of knowledge, communication skills and critical thinking in international perspectives. Students also attain expertise and research skills which are necessary for writing academic papers.

Course prerequisites

博士前期課程で履修するに足りる日本語能力(議論・レポート作成)
第1回または第2回は必ず出席
最低履修8回
Sufficient English proficiency for academic discussion and writing
Attendance in the first and/or the second class
Minimum attendance in 8 classes

Grading Philosophy

発表を含む授業参加活動40%、宿題20%、期末レポート 40%
In-class performance incl. presentation 40%;Homework assignment 20%; Term paper 40%

Course schedule

講義・授業中の議論は日本語で行う。英語の方が流ちょうな場合は、秋学期の授業を取ること。
Lecture and in-class discussion are conducted in Japanese. Students whose English proficiency is better than Japanese one should take Comparative History Education held in the Autumn Term instead of this lecture in the Spring Term.
