Course Overview

Students will be able to listen to and understand correctly simple
speech about familiar topics. They will be able to do simple
presentations and listen to the presentations of others.

Learning Achievement

・Students will be able to listen to/understand conversations using grammar patterns previously studied.
・Students will be able to understand and differentiate between various Japanese sounds and pitch accents.
・Students will be able to converse about familiar topics, and give their opinion.

Students must have been placed in this level according to the placement test.

Grading Philosophy

Class participation 10%, Presentations 50%, Homework assignments 20%, Quizzes 20%
(Attendance rate of 70% or higher is required)
