Course Overview
This course teaches students about basic concepts of data science and fundamental techniques for data collection, management and analysis. Students will acquire practical methods for data utilization. Through concrete examples from data science, they will also develop an understanding of how data is used in society.

Course schedule
Weeks 1-5: - Positioning of data science in society and its significance - Data collection (basic data science processes, data types, data collection, data preprocessing, data reusability) - Data management (significance and purpose of data management, design of data collection items, separation of information structure and expression, advanced data management and big data) Weeks 6-10: - Data visualization (significance and purpose of visualization, how to choose visual representation) - Data analysis (understanding of discrete variables, treatment of nominal and ordinal scales, statistics of discrete variables, understanding of quantitative variables, statistics of quantitative variables, causality and correlation, time series data, network data, advanced data analysis and artificial intelligence
