Course Overview

近代国民国家の形成過程における公的教育制度の発展について考察する。具体的事例として、18世紀から19世紀にかけて発展したドイツ(プロシア)と、フランス革命以降のフランス、並びに幕末から明治初期の日本の事例を中心に扱う。これら事例にいては、ナショナリズムと教育・国民アイデンティティの形成と教育・近代工業化と教育という3つの視点から検討する。さらに、近代以降の日本と諸外国における社会変遷と教育政策の役割の相互関係についても議論する。

Learning Achievement

比較教育学研究における全般的な専門知識について学習する。グローバルな共生社会における歴史教育のあり方について検討・議論することを通じ、知の創成力、コミュニケーション能力、国際性の要請に不可欠な思考力を習得する。比較教育学研究において、博士論文を含む学術論文執筆が可能な専門知識と研究力を身につける。
Students study overall expertise in comparative education. Through investigation and discussion on history education in our global society, students attain the use of knowledge, communication skills and critical thinking in international perspectives. Students also attain expertise and research skills which are necessary for writing his/her doctoral thesis and academic papers.

Course prerequisites

博士後期課程で履修するに足りる日本語能力(議論・レポート作成)
第1回または第2回は必ず出席
最低履修8回
Sufficient English language proficiency in participating the class
Participation either in the 1st or the 2nd class.
Minimum 8 classes participation.

Grading Philosophy

発表を含む授業参加活動40%、宿題20%、期末レポート 40%
Performance in the class (40%); Homework (20%); Term paper (40%)

Course schedule

講義・授業中の議論は日本語で行う。英語の方が流ちょうな学生は、秋学期に履修すること。
Lecture and in-class discussion are conducted in Japanese. Students whose English proficiency is better than Japanese one should take Educational Policy held in the Autumn Term instead of this lecture in the Spring Term.
