Electro kinetic phenomena Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Course Overview

The purpose of discipline to study different electrokinetical phenomena. Formation of the competence of a chemist to study electrostatic phenomena and electrostatic interaction of colloidal particles.

Master students will be able to explain the mechanism of formation of a double electric layer, the theory of the double electric layer; theory of stability of a disperse system

Colloidal Chemistry, Colloidal chemical of environmental protection.

Exams (25%), Activity in classromm (75%)

Course schedule

Week1: Features of dispersed systems obtaining dispersed particles by dispersion method Week2: Double electric layer. Mechanism of double electric layer formation by dissociation of adsorption and surface molecules. Week3: General conceptions of electrokinetic phenomena.
