In the spring semester, we will continue focusing on understanding the topic of academic compositions. We will be discussing the following topics (among others) What makes topic sentences weak or strong? What makes paragraph organization weak or strong? What contributes to poor idea development? What plagiarism is and why it is a problem? Examples from student writing samples will be used to illustrate strengths and weaknesses in writing compositions at this level.
