Experimental Linguistics University of Tsukuba

Course Overview

This course introduces a range of experimental research across different domains in linguistics, and provide the basics of experimental approaches. Students are expected to be able to make empirical observations for theoretical generalizations.

Learning Achievement

1) To recognize the necessity of experimental approaches in linguistics
2) To acquire basic knowledge of various subfields in linguistics
3) To interpret empirical data and articulate the theoretical implications

Course prerequisites

Taking "Introduction to Phonetics" and "Experimental Phonetics" is strongly recommended.
