Course Overview

The course will provide a discussion of trends and frontiers in educational research. Particular attention will be given to international trends in commentary and discussion. Presentation of assignments and collaborative learning will also be conducted. Topics include an examination of internationally used pedagogical concepts, lesson study, sociological research, educational policies of international organizations and other countries, international comparison of school management and career education, reporting on the state of Japanese education abroad, and analysis of educational practices, in order to improve students' knowledge and research skills.
