Course Overview

To teach the basics of "Gas dynamics", to teach them to derive basic equations and to familiarize with the fundamental axioms, hypotheses and modern approaches in modeling the statistical hydrodynamics of turbulent flows.

Course schedule

Week1: Introductory lecture. The subject of gas dynamics (GD). Hypotheses and features in GD. Week2: Basic equations of DG. Current lines and trajectory of particles. Tube current and its properties. Current tube density Mass conservation law. Week3: The mechanical form of the energy equation. The generalized Bernoulli equation. Bernoulli equation (simplified form) in the case of compressible gas.
