ヒトや微生物の染色体の全ゲノムの配列が明らかになりつつあり,今後これらを利用した医療技術の急速な進展が予想される。そこで,その基本となる組み替えDNA技術の基礎を教授し,病原体の検出法や疾病の遺伝子診断技術,染色体検査について解説する。
