Course Overview
Industrial Ecology is an emergent scientific discipline that takes a systemic approach to environmental problems. This approach, integrating technical, environmental and social frames of reference, is essential for sustainable development. For that reason Industrial Ecology is sometimes referred to as the "toolbox for sustainable development". This course aims to train students in the analysis, methodology, design, and implementation of industrial activities in a way that minimises the environmental impact of these activities while maintaining their functionality.
