Course Overview
This course aims to provide an introductory knowledge of the biologyand biochemistry of a selection of microorganisms and plants, in orderto provide students with an understanding of how chemical /biochemicalstructures evolve and how these organisms can be used as producers of(macro)molecules of interest. More specifically, this course will intend to achieve the followinggoals: - Know the different types of microorganisms and have abasic knowledge of the biology of a selection of microorganisms; -Know the components of microbial cell and their function; - Knowthe main biological cycles; - Know how to use microorganisms inpractice to produce biobasedmolecules of interest
