Students will be able to exchange information about familiar, everyday topics.

Learning Achievement

Students will be able to talk about themselves and ask their conversation partner about things pertaining to everyday topics. This course will focus on listening and speaking practice of Japanese used in daily life.

Course prerequisites

Students should have Japanese ability of at least J1.

Grading Philosophy

Class participation 50%, homework 30%, Final exam 20%

Seasons and weather - Lesson 4: It's a nice day, isn't it?
My town - Lesson 6: Please go straight
Going out - Lesson 8: Have you been to see the night view yet?
: Languages and culture of other countries - Lesson 10: I'd like to go to Japan some day
Eating outdoors - Lesson 12: It looks delicious
Business trips - Lesson 14: May I use this?
Staying healthy - Lesson 16: I go running and swimming
Celebrations - Lesson 18: I think a party is a good idea
