Course Overview

This course will cover the language knowledge (writing system, vocabulary, grammar, sentence patterns, etc.) necessary for students to communicate about themselves, their families, things happening around them, and other things directly related to themselves.

Learning Achievement

Students will be able to exchange information about familiar, everyday topics, provided that they are relatively simple.

Competence

Course prerequisites

Students have to certify this subject fits their level by taking the placement test (http://ttbj-tsukuba.org/).
Students should have Japanese ability of at least J1(PT score 31〜47).

Grading Philosophy

Class participation 40%, Quiz 30%, Final Assignment 30%
Note that grades from A+ to C are to be determined based on the total score.
