Japanese 6 Listening 1B (Upper-intermediate) University of Tsukuba

Course Overview

Listening material of about three minutes long will be used in class on topics that are familiar but include relatively difficult vocabulary/content and feature manners of speaking that are comparatively challenging in order to enhance students’ listening comprehension. The course aims for students to be able to: take notes on, summarize, and manipulate important information, as well as understand interpersonal relationships and various changes in sound.

Learning Achievement

To be able to take notes and summarize the necessary information, while listening to the cohesive material for approximately 3 minutes.

Course prerequisites

Students must certify this subject fits their level by taking the placement test (http://ttbj-tsukuba.org/) or by passing a subject one level below this subject (Japanese 5 Listening).

Grading Philosophy

Assignments 30%, Quizzes 30%, Final test 40%
