Japanese 8 Listening A (Advanced) University of Tsukuba

Course Overview

Students will be able to understand listening materials of up to 30 minutes in length which are unclear or contain dialects and are about a wide range of topics including specialized information. They will be able to listen in ways that reflect certain needs, and will integrate other skills in their listening.

Learning Achievement

This course will use listening materials of up to 30 minutes in length which have unclear speech and are from a a wide range of topics including specialized information. In addition to goals from Japanese 7 Listening, students will aim to listen in ways that reflect certain needs, and integrate other skills (e.g. writing: listen to an interview program, and summarize it in writing), etc.

Competence

Course prerequisites

Students have to certify this subject fits their level by taking the placement test (http://ttbj-tsukuba.org/) or by passing a subject one level below this subject.

Grading Philosophy

Homework assignments , Quizzes(60%), Final Exam(40%)
Note that grades from A+ to C are to be determined based on the total score. 70% or higher attendance is required.
