Japanese Listening I-A University of Tsukuba

Course Overview

In this course, students will complete training to acquire the
listening skills required for success in university classes. In
addition to increasing students' vocabulary and knowledge of
expressions, this course will provide practice in grasping the
theme, flow, and critical points of a conversation.

Learning Achievement

・Students will be able to develop the listening skills necessary for success in university classes, as well as students will be able to develop own capability for autonomous study.
・Through the lectures of various fields, students will learn vocabulary and background information critical to understanding Japan and Japanese culture.

Course prerequisites

Students have to certify this subject fits their level by taking the
placement test (http://ttbj-tsukuba.org/) or by passing a subject one level below this subject.

Grading Philosophy

Assignments 30%, Midterm exam 30% Final exam 40%
Note that grades from A+ to C are to be determined based on the total score.

Contact the instructor to obtain permission before taking the course. Officially enrolled undergraduate international students and returnee students of our university etc. can register. There is a student number limit. Students who have already completed Japanese Listening A cannot enroll.
Online(Synchronous)
Details will be given in class or posted on manaba. This course uses manaba for learning.1-2 hours of preparation will be necessary for each class. Homework will be given through Manaba, so students should complete it before attending class.
