Japanese Reading I-A University of Tsukuba

Course Overview

In this course, students will complete training to acquire the
reading skills required for success in university classes. During
spring semester, the focus will be particularly on summarization.
There will be assignments every week in class.

Learning Achievement

This course will help students develop the reading skills necessary for success in university classes. Students will read from a wide range of texts, including newspaper articles, short essays, and reviews, etc., and summarize and discuss their opinions and their understanding of the content in order to develop their understanding. They will also obtain the background information necessary to understand texts about Japanese history, culture, and thought patterns.

Contact the instructor to obtain permission before taking the course. Officially enrolled undergraduate international students and returnee students of our university etc. can register. There is a student number limit. Students who have already completed Japanese Reading A cannot enroll.
Online(Synchronous)
Details will be given in class or posted on manaba. Several hours of preparation will be necessary for each class. Homework will be given through Manaba, so students should complete it before attending class.
