Course Overview

Students will be able to properly use vocabulary from specialized fields such as medical science, nutrition and chemistry, physics, environmental problems, and politics, as they learn to read and write advanced level kanji vocabulary. They will also select kanji and kanji vocabulary from reading material they enjoy and learn how to use them for their own purposes.

problems, and politics, as they learn to read and write advanced level kanji vocabulary. They will also select kanji and kanji vocabulary from the reading materials they enjoy and learn how to use them for their own purposes

Course prerequisites

Students have to certify this subject fits their level by taking the placement test (http://ttbj-tsukuba.org/) or by passing a subject one level below this subject.

Grading Philosophy

Task and Assginments 10%, Quizzes 30%, Final test 60%
(Attendance rate of 70% or higher is required)
Note that grades from A+ to C are to be determined based on the total score.

Homework will be regularly given. Students are expected to not only learn kanji from the textbook, but to be proactive in looking up kanji vocabulary which they find essential and using these in order to expand their vocabulary.
