Course Overview
This course is designed to provide an integrative and practical focuson leadership and management. It presents leadership and managementtheories and concepts through active and extensive reading on the partof students. It provides students with the opportunity to observe someof these theories through a play. The course is also intended to helpstudents apply these theories themselves through case studies and toenhance personal skill development through self-assessment activities.

Grading Philosophy
Students are expected to regularly read and prepare the questions thatwill be debated in class. Class participation in discussions andcase-study activities will be evaluated. A written assignment based onpreliminary readings, class debates and personal analysis will consistin a critical reflection paper.

> HENRY V AND LEADERSHIPShakespeare's words and characters have an uncannyability to reach outbeyond their original time and space and to speak directly to us.His depiction of Henry V illustrates that leadership is not simple,but full of ambiguities. Shakespeare's Henry V's development as aleader confirms Peter Drucker's statement that "Leaders are not born,nor are they made--theyare self-made." > PERSONALITYTESTSGeneral presentation of personality tests: - Big-Five Personality Test, - Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, - DISC Assessment.> THE PROCCESS AND ROLES OF LEADERSHIP Readings, analyses and debates on different approaches and theories.> LEADERSHIP TRAITS Readings, analyses and debates on different approaches and theories.> CASE STUDIESEach week the class will be divided into small groups and assigned acase study to work oin which will be debated in class. The casestudies will be short cases on management and leadership challengesthat will enable students to apply conceptual material to real worldwork place situations.
