Course Overview

The purpose of teaching the discipline is to familiarize students with the conceptual laws of the formation of the structure of new functional materials and the most pressing problems of modern theoretical and experimental materials science with new theoretical approaches and principles of design of materials with specified properties, modern technologies for the production and processing of materials, the formation of a worldview based on knowledge of the role of science and technicians in the development of society, the development of production skills new materials taking into account environmental and economic aspects.

Course schedule

Week1: Introduction. Classification of functional materials by properties and applications. Week2: Basic properties, principles of choice and physico-chemical principles of the design of new materials. Nanomaterials. Week3: Physico-chemical properties of two-dimensional nanomaterials.
