Mineralogy and Petrology University of Tsukuba
Course Overview
This lecture provides basic knowledge for various minerals and rocks in the earth's surface and interior. Main purposes are to learn classification, basic principles and processes of the formations of the minerals and rocks (mainly igneous and metamorphic rocks) in the earth.
Learning Achievement
Students will be engaged in acheiving general knowledge and comprehensive understandings of the constituent materials of earth and their changes, by learning various kinds of minerals and rocks, their generation and formation mechnism in earth's surface and interior, and meteorites from the outside.
