Numerical Methods for Chemical Engineer Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

Course Overview

This course discusses techniques of solving problems using numerical methods that involve non-linear equations, systems of linear equation, interpolation and curve fitting, numerical differentiation and numerical integration, eigenvalue problems, ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations. Mathematical tools and software is also incorporated in this course.

Learning Achievement

1. Able to define numerical methods concepts, formulate method of solutions and select appropriate procedures and techniques in solving routine problems (Knowledge) 2. Able to apply numerical methods concepts to evaluate, analyze and solve engineering problems (Problem Analysis) 3. Able to show the ability to perform and cooperate in group work (Team Working) 4.
