Course Overview

The aim of the course is the formation of theoretical and applied knowledge about the conceptual foundations of chemical kinetics and electrochemistry that can be used in research work for future professional activity.

Students should be competent in: demonstrate knowledge of basic laws and applied problems of chemical kinetics and electrochemistry of chemical processes

Course schedule

Week1: Basic concepts of chemical kinetics. Rate of chemical reaction, the influence of various factors on the rate. Week2: Kinetic analysis of simple irreversible reactions of the first, second, n-th (with equal concentrations of reacting substances) and zero order. Half life. Week3: Methods for determining the order of the reaction and the rate constant for formally simple reactions in closed systems: the integral and differential methods
