Course Overview

The purpose of the discipline is to form the ability to explain the mechanisms of the processes of pharmaceutical production. During the study of course, students should be competent in: demonstrate an understanding of the basic laws and applied problems of chemical thermodynamics and kinetics

Learning Achievement

students will learn following aspects: studying the fundamentals of thermodynamics, the theory of solutions in accordance with the requirements of pharmaceutical industries to prepare process solutions, applied aspects of the kinetics of simple and complex reactions of pharmaceutical processes using methods for determining the order, rate constant and activation energy in pharmaceutical kinetics.

Course schedule

Week1: Subject and problems of physical chemistry. Introduction: basic concepts and definitions of thermodynamics. Week2: Application of the first law of thermodynamics to various processes. Week3: Temperature dependence of the thermal effect of the chemical reaction, Kirchhoff equations.
