Course Overview

This course will serve to create an in-depth understanding of public policy and management. First, we will teach students basic theories related to "public management". Then, by assuming the public issues related to "local sustainability" that local governments face, we will consider the management of local governments by cooperating with the private sector and by using regional resources, while taking into account the issues of policy responsibilities and democratic control. The course will mainly on the public management of local governments in Japan.
