Quantum Mechanics III University of Tsukuba

Course Overview

We will study advanced topics from non-relativistic quantum theory such as scattering, identical particles, addition of angular momentum, higher Z atoms, and the WKB approximation.

Learning Achievement

By the end of this course, the student should be able to interpret and analyze a wide range of quantum mechanical systems using both exact analytic techniques and various approximation methods.

Competence

This course will introduce to the students some of the important model systems studied in contemporary physic.s

Course prerequisites

Students should have completed the Quantum Mechanics III course.

Grading Philosophy

There will be homework and a final exam. The final grade for the course will be based on the Final exam (50%) and homework (50%). Late problem sets will not be accepted.
