Quantum theory of many-body Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Course Overview

The aims of the subject is familiarity with the method of second quantization for fermions and bosons. These theories are attached to the study of the properties of condensed matter physics, the research of the structure of atomic nuclei and elementary particles.

Course schedule

Week1: The expression of the Hamiltonian of the physical system of N identical interacting particles in terms of the annihilation and creation operators. Week2: A degenerate almost ideal Fermi gas with repulsion between the particles. Week3: Calculation of thermodynamic quantities of a Fermi liquid at T=0 from the Green’s function.
