Course Overview

This course is intended to introduce students to the “science” side of political science. Over the course the students will learn how to think like social scientists while developing various skills required by the discipline: how to choose and frame appropriate questions, how to undertake original research (complete with data collection and analysis), and how to present the findings to colleagues in a customary fashion.

Learning Achievement

The course will have the following results: a detailed knowledge of basic concepts and ethics of inquiry and research design, data collection, statistical and interpretative analysis, and final report presentation
