Course Overview
The learning objectives of the course are:
- Introduction to research in biological anthropology and archeology
from the design of a scientific project to the production of outreach
materials
- Development of teamwork skills in the organization of a scientific
event
- Construction of a relevant bibliography
- Writing and reviewing of a communication abstract
- Scientific conference: preparation of a poster and presentation,
networking with scientists from the same and related fields.

Course prerequisites
- Basic knowledge in biological anthropology and archeology (as
delivered during the first semester of Biogeosciences)
- Good level of English
Grading Philosophy
- Poster design and content (50%)
- 15-minute oral presentation (50%)
Course schedule
Students are responsible for the organization of a poster symposium
based on an important research topic within the domain of biological
anthropology and/or archeology. The students form the organizational
and scientific committees of the symposium and interact with
scientists in the preparation of their poster/presentation at the
event.
