Technology of catalysts of petrochemical industrial productions Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Course Overview

The aim of the discipline is the formation of an integral systemic idea of the scientific principles of the preparation of catalysts; understanding of the importance of the correct choice of the composition and methods of preparing catalysts for the implementation of industrial catalytic refinery processes.

The student will be able to describe the dependence of the main characteristics of catalysts on the conditions of their preparation

Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, General Chemical Technology, Basic Processes and Devices of Chemical Productions

Grading Philosophy

Exams (25%), Activity in classromm (75%)

Course schedule

Week1: Catalysis as phenomena. A role and features of catalysis in the industry and petrochemical production. Week2: Catalytic activity. Reaction pathways in the presence of catalysts. Classification of catalytic processes. Week3: The basic requirements to the catalyst.
