Theory and practice of catalytic production Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Course Overview

The aim of the discipline is to form an integral systematic understanding of the theoretical and practical foundations of catalysis and the principles of catalysts synthesis; understanding the importance of the correct choice of composition and methods of preparation of catalysts for industrial catalytic processes of oil refining.

Students should be competent in: to understand theoretical bases of catalysis and describe the main theoretical provisions of A.A.Balandin, N.I.Kobozev, G. Boreskov

Week1: Catalysis concept. Catalysis preconditions. Catalysis in petrochemistry and oil refining. Week2: Catalytic activity. Reaction pathways in the presence of catalysts. Week3: Theoretical bases of catalysis. Ideas of G.Taylor, P. Sabatye, M.Faradey.
