Translational Science in Drug Discovery University of Tsukuba
Course Overview
Translational Science has been of more importance to bridge basic research in the preclinical stage and patient care in the clinical stage. From drug discovery research point of view, it can enhance our understanding and confidence in targets, bringing potential compounds and biologics up to Proof of Concept earlier. Bio-imaging is a translatable tool from preclinical study to clinical study with same methodology such as PET MRI CT, to investigate pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and efficacy especially in target organs with more minimally invasive.
