Varieties of Japanese II A University of Tsukuba

Course Overview

Students will deepen their understanding of the Japanese language as they enjoy learning about different genres and uses of the language.

Learning Achievement

Students will learn about ancient Japanese vocabulary, grammar, phonetics, and dialects, and increase their knowledge of modern Japanese. They will also deepen their understanding of their own language.

Course prerequisites

Students must be in level 6 or 7.

Grading Philosophy

"Final report 80%, Active class participation 20%
(Attendance rate of 70% or higher is required) "

Course schedule

Week 1: Orientation
Weeks 2 to 15: Classes will be conducted according to the schedule.
* There will be assignments and tests.
* A detailed schedule will be handed out on the first day of classes.
