Vibration and Noise Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
Course Overview
This course is to familiarize the students with the sources of vibration and noise and expose the students to the fundamental of mechanical vibrations and noise engineering. It provides the students with the tools essential to tackle the problem of vibrations produced in machines and structures due to unbalance forces, vibrations isolation, two degree of freedom system, multi-degree of freedom system and continuous system. A noise part is devoted to sound level and subjective response to sound, noise, effects, ratings and regulations and Noise: sources, isolation and control.
Learning Achievement
1. Define the concepts of vibration and noise 2. Analyse and formulate the system from single degree to multi degree of freedom systems and practice case studies on the field of vibration and noise. 3. Present the sources of noise and vibrations and presents clearly the methods to control it.
