Course Overview
The module will give the students the abilities to perform PublicHealth studies which integrate data from social networks and webforums, linked open data and mobile data. It will be driven by usecases based teaching and practical hands-on supported by conceptualand theoretical background. Attendees will practice usingenvironmental and geo-tagged data, web forums data and large a largemobile dataset (call details records).

- Basic programming and scripting skills. - Notions in statistics and epidemiology

- Continuous assessment (work group - oral presentation) -Project conducted in group of students + presentation -Rules and protocol for failures/re-sits is clearly described
Course schedule
- It will be driven by case-based teaching and practical hands-onexperiences supported by conceptual and theoretical background.Attendees will use environmental and geo-tagged data, web forums dataand a large mobile data set (call detail records).The content includes: - Limitation and opportunities of web based data for public health - Introduction and practices on Natural Language Processing and Textmining of Web Based Data -Principles of semantic indexing and retrieval -Linked Open Data Querying and Semantic Web -Geolocalized and Environmental data processing -Data vizualisation
