Course Overview

The aim of the course: studying main concepts of animal structure and biodiversity, modern methods of zoological investigations, teaching students effective professional writing and oral communication in English

To be able to demonstrate acquired knowledge of organization, phylogeny, distribution and diversity of invertebrates and vertebrates; animal ecological and practical significance, skills of modern methods in field and experimental zoology, skills of microscopic examinations, animal identification

Week1: Major divisions of life and subdivisions of animal kingdom Week2: Type Sponges (Porifera or Spongia) and type Coelenterates (Coelenterata) taxonomy, biology, ecology and distribution Week3: Type Flat worms (Ploathelminthes) and Type Round or aschelminth (Nemathelminthes) taxonomy, biology, ecology and distribution
